Tehreem Uzma // State Board Chair
Tehreem joined NJPIRG Students as an intern for the New Voter’s Project in the summer of 2020. Since then she has been focused on building and maintaining campus relations and coalition ties at Rutgers New Brunswick. Tehreem was the campaign coordinator for the 100% Renewable Energy campaign during the spring of 2021 and has coordinated various events related to environmental justice, renewable energy advocacy, and voting. Tehreem enjoys creative writing, reading fantasy novels, and baking to find the perfect brownie recipe.
Matthew Brodsky // State Board Vice Chair
Matthew joined NJPIRG in the spring semester of 2021 for Rutgers Camden as their NVP Campaign Coordinator. In those months he helped work to improve the vote coalition for NJPIRG and hosted events to discuss the importance of voting. In the past, Matthew interned in Trenton and worked with youth organizations on police reform in New Jersey. He is also now the Rutgers-Camden chapter chair. In his free time, Matthew enjoys playing baseball, video games, and watching sports .
Caleb Haddad // Organizing Director
Caleb oversees student leaders on college campuses across New Jersey and directs campus organizing efforts on a variety of public interest issues. In previous roles with CALPIRG Students, they won a campaign to commit all of the University of California campuses to 100% clean electricity and won the American Climate Leadership Award. In their free time, Caleb enjoys playing saxophone, surfing, and making Spotify playlists.
Kate Sundberg // Campus Organizer
Kate is the campus organizer working with NJPIRG student leaders at Rutgers New Brunswick. She graduated from Wesleyan University in 2020 with a degree in Chemistry and Environmental Studies. She got her start with organizing as a high school student, mobilizing the Quaker community in Florida to support the Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ Fair Food Campaign. Kate has also worked on the successful campaigns to stop PNC Bank from financing mountaintop removal coal mining and push Wesleyan to divest its endowment from fossil fuel investments. In her free time, Kate enjoys baking sourdough bread, hiking, and thrifting.
