Student Leadership:

Khushi Vora // State Board Chair

Hi! I’m Khushi, a freshman finance major from the New Brunswick campus! I’m also the NJPIRG at New Brunswick chapter chair and State Board Chair, as well as the campaign coordinator for the Climate Action campaign in New Brunswick. I joined NJPIRG by chance when I saw a petitioning event outside Livi Dining Commons (gotta give credit to Julián)! It’s been an amazing, fun and heartwarming experience as we help bring out change in our community and reach so many people while we’re at it! Apart from giving back to my community, I love spending time with my friends and family, baking, driving and sketching/painting.

Our Staff:

Dan Xie //  Political Director

Dan began her career in college as a student leader with CALPIRG, where she helped to bring high-speed rail to California. In her current role she directs the national political strategy for the Student PIRGs. She advises staff and students on strategic campaign plans and amplifies our work with coalition partners and at conferences. Dan has managed successful campaigns to cap global warming pollution, fight the high cost of higher education, and make voting more accessible for students. Dan lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she is an avid cyclist and climber.

Alex Goron //  Campus Organizer

Alex Gordon (she/her) is our campus organizer at Rutgers University- New Brunswick working with students to get out the vote, save the bees, and reduce hunger and homelessness in the New Brunswick area. Alex previously worked with Florida PIRG Students to get campuses and city governments to commit to phasing out nonessential single-use plastics., winning the Brower Youth Award for her work. When she’s not organizing, Alex loves to hike, and read dystopian novels.
